• Today begins your pilgrimage through the monasteries of Ladakh.
• After breakfast head out for a day excursion of Leh Monasteries.
• Thiksey Monastery:This monastery, one of the largest in the region, was constructed in the 15th century and shares an architectural similarity with Patola Palace in Tibet. The Maitreya Buddha statue and several shrines are located in this mountain monastery. The 17th through the 19th of September each year marks a festival where masked dance is performed.
• Hemis Monastery: The Drukpa Kagyu branch of Tibetan Buddhism built this monastery in the 17th century, and it is adorned with colourful prayer flags from all four sides. One of the largest thangkas in the world is one that Hemis displays for the public once every twelve years at the Hemis festival.

• Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel and leave for Sham Valley (where Likir is located).
• En route enjoy the view of magnificent Magnetic Hill where even though the road appears to be going upward your vehicle will go downward.
• The next stop is Likir Monastery.
• Likir Monastery: It is well-known for the 75-foot-tall Buddha statue that is housed on its grounds. The monastery dates back to the 11th century.
• Spend some time exploring Likir after viewing the monastery before continuing on to Rizong.
• Due to the thin road structure to reach the hilltop you have to trek for a kilometre to reach the monastery.
• Rizong Monastery: This 19th-century monastery follows strict monastic disciplines such as the “Vinaya Rules’ adhering monks can’t leave till the completion of education, have to shun all material comforts and forsake all material possessions. The Choeling Chulichan Nunnery, where more than 20 nuns reside, is one of the well-known attractions that travellers must see here.
• Reach Lamayaru by night, check-in, have dinner and retire for the night.

• After a delicious breakfast, the first stop for the day is the Moon landscapes of
• Drive to Lamayuru Monastery  –  The Drikung Kagyu sect-following Buddhist monastery, which was constructed in a lunar landscape, is well-known among tourists for both its historical significance and its natural beauty. This monastery holds a significant position in the region because it oversees 50 other monasteries and has 300 registered monks under its supervision.
• Late in the evening drive toward Alchi for the overnight stay.

• Have breakfast at the hotel and our guide will take you to Alchi Monastery.
• Alchi Monastery: This monastery is situated on a plain rather than a mountaintop because it was constructed before the invasion conflicts began. It is more than a thousand years old and is located on the west bank of the Indus River. Despite the fact that no religious rituals have been carried out on the complex for the past 500 years, it is recognised for its magnificent wall paintings, thousands of tiny Buddha images, and other architectural and historical features.
• After lunch, we leave for Leh, en route to Bagso, where the ruins of the 15th-century capital of Ladakh are.
• We reach Leh by night for an overnight stay.

• In the Morning after breakfast, our guide will take you on a tour of the remaining monasteries in and near Leh.
• Shey Monastery: Shey Monastery and Shey Palace, the former home of the Ladakahi Royal dynasty, are part of the hilltop complex. Visitors to the monastery come to see its two annual celebrations, Shey Doo Lhoo and Shey Rupla. Monastery houses giant copper with a gilded gold statue of Shakyamuni Buddha.
• Spituk Monastery:  TThis hilltop monastery is home to 100 monks and features a museum with a large collection of historical thangkas, masks, and statues, including a giant Kali.
• The rest of the day we have no activities planned so as to give you time for exploration and shopping in the city.
